Kenneth C. Vining

Kenneth ViningKen was born and raised in Medford, Massachusetts. He graduated Medford High School in 1992, Suffolk University in 1996 and Massachusetts School of Law in 1999 and has had his office in the same location in Somerville for the past 22 years.
Over the years, he has litigated housing disputes in District Court, Superior Court, Appeals Court, Supreme Judicial Court and Housing Court throughout Eastern Massachusetts.

As a result, his expertise in housing matters is not limited to the courtroom but also is one of a practical nature as he knows firsthand of the financial strain and headache a tenant issue can have on a landlord.
Away from the office, Ken enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children, Rhodey and Annette. As well as his foster child that he has taken in through DCF.  He is an avid hiker and enjoys both watching and playing hockey. His first love is the theater and you’d be hard pressed to find a Broadway musical he hasn’t seen. He frequently visits New York to visit extended family and take in a show. When it comes to sports his allegiance of course is to Boston and he will always be a fan of all Boston sports teams.

Vining Law - Our HistoryVining Law Office LLC was deeply rooted in Somerville Massachusetts for the past 50 years and traces its roots to the law practice of Charles W. Vining (pictured to the right, standing with the Middlesex Civil Clerk in 1979). Attorney Charles Vining graduated from Suffolk Law School in 1962. In 1967 he opened a law firm with several other local attorneys in Union Square Somerville. In 1979 he purchased the building at 761 Broadway where Mass Housing Law Group, LLP operates from today. From 1979 through 2005, Charles W. Vining ran a law practice dealing with real estate, personal injury, workers’ comp, estate planning and divorce. His wife Annette L. Vining and daughter Janice also worked in the firm.

In 1998, Kenneth C. Vining joined the firm and they reorganized as Vining and Vining, LLP.

In 2000, Kenneth’s wife, Elizabeth A. Vining started at the firm as a secretary. Shortly thereafter, Elizabeth went to Boston University Law School and graduated in 2004. After briefly working elsewhere, in 2005 she joined Kenneth and they reorganized as Vining Law Office, LLC. Elizabeth was a principal partner from 2005 – 2018 with an exclusive focus in representing buyers, sellers and banks with residential real estate purchases and sales. In 2018, she reduced her practice to focus on her family’s plans to be foster parents through the Department of Children and Families.

In 2020, Vining Law Office, LLC merged with 4 other housing attorneys and created the current firm of the Mass Housing Law Group, LLP.
